1. Independent Platform — Not Government

CSSMitra.in is an independent, privately maintained platform run by a team of professionals. This platform:

• Is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, or any other Ministry or Department of the Government of India.
• Is not an official CSS cadre management portal.
• Is not connected to or authorised by the Central Secretariat Service Division of DoPT.
• Does not represent the views or positions of the Government of India.

The name "CSSMitra" and the platform are independent creations and are not associated with any government programme or scheme of that name.

2. Not Legal or Service Advice

All content published on CSSMitra — including blog articles, guides, FAQs, and tool outputs — is provided for general information and educational purposes only. It does not constitute:

• Legal advice under the Advocates Act, 1961 or any other law;
• Official interpretation of the Central Civil Services rules, the Fundamental Rules, or any other statutory provision;
• A service entitlement determination or official order of any competent authority; or
• Professional financial, tax, or investment advice.

For any decision affecting your service career — including leave, promotion, pension, disciplinary proceedings, or service record — you should rely on the original rules and official DoPT circulars, and consult your Ministry's Administration / Establishment Section or a qualified legal professional.

3. Accuracy of Content

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that the information on CSSMitra is accurate, current, and consistent with the latest rules and Office Memoranda. However:

• Government service rules are amended frequently. An article accurate at the time of publication may become outdated due to a subsequent DoPT circular, court judgment, or legislative amendment.
• Our articles cite source rules and OMs, but we do not guarantee that such citations are always complete or that we have captured every amendment.

4. Free Tools — Disclaimer

CSSMitra provides 24 free, browser-based office tools (PDF, image, text, security and productivity utilities). These tools:

• Run entirely in your browser — files you open, edit or convert are processed locally and are not uploaded to our servers;
• Are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind regarding accuracy, output quality, or fitness for a specific purpose;
• May depend on your browser's capabilities — results can vary across browsers, devices, and file sizes; and
• Should not be relied upon as the sole means of processing sensitive, legally significant, or irreplaceable documents — always keep a backup of your original files.

5. Calculators — Disclaimer

The financial and service calculators on CSSMitra (pension, gratuity, leave encashment, HRA, income tax, etc.) are designed to give indicative estimates based on the parameters you enter and the rules as we understand them. Calculator outputs:

• Are indicative only and may differ from figures computed by your Pay & Accounts Office (PAO) or DDO;
• May not reflect the latest amendments to the CCS (Pension) Rules 2021, GFR 2017, or Income Tax provisions;
• Do not account for individual service-specific variations, departmental orders, or personal entitlement conditions; and
• Should not be used as the basis for submitting pension papers, tax returns, or official claims.

Always get your final pension, gratuity, and leave encashment figures verified by your Ministry's PAO before submission.

6. Intellectual Property

All original content on CSSMitra — including blog articles, tool designs, calculator logic, and platform code — is the intellectual property of CSSMitra and its contributors. You may:

• Share links to our articles freely;
• Quote brief excerpts (up to 100 words) with attribution and a link back to the source page.

You may not reproduce full articles, copy calculator code, or republish our content — in whole or in substantial part — on any other website, platform, or publication without prior written permission. For permissions, email cssmitra100@gmail.com.

Government rules, circulars, and Office Memoranda cited on this platform are public documents of the Government of India and are not subject to our copyright.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CSSMitra and its contributors shall not be liable for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise — arising from:

• Your reliance on any information, tool output, or calculator result from this platform;
• Errors or omissions in our content;
• Interruption or unavailability of the platform; or
• Any service career decision taken on the basis of content found here.
