Three quick inspectors in one place: see a file's basic properties, look inside a ZIP archive without extracting it, and preview the first rows of a CSV โ all processed directly in your browser with nothing uploaded.
Select one or more files to see their type, exact size and last-modified date โ handy for quickly checking several files at once before deciding what to do with them.
See exactly what's inside a ZIP file โ file count, estimated uncompressed size, and a full file listing โ without extracting it to your device first.
Get a quick table view of a CSV's first rows and column headers, useful for confirming a file's structure before importing it somewhere else.
These are the small file-handling jobs that come up around document work โ checking what a file actually is, renaming a batch consistently, and confirming that a file you received is the same one that was sent.
A file that will sit in a record for years should carry enough in its name to be identifiable without opening it: the subject, the document type and the date, in a format that sorts correctly. Dates written as YYYY-MM-DD sort chronologically on their own; dates written as DD-MM-YYYY do not. This costs nothing at the time and saves real effort when someone has to find the document three years later.
